Psychopathy and Abusive Spouses

In the year 2005, the FBI hosted a Serial Murder Symposium. Experts in that symposium identified certain traits common to serial murderers, including sensation seeking, a lack of remorse or guilt, impulsivity, the need for control, and predatory behavior. These traits and behaviors are consistent with the psychopathic personality disorder. This disorder can also manifest in people who are not necessarily murderers, but those who prey on the well-being of innocent people. Mridu Arya is one such psychopath, but one who presents with an innocent and sociable face.

Modus Operandi

Mridu’s modus operandi is very simple but very deadly for her victim. Befriend a guy, establish physical relations with him soon after so that he does not go away from her. Fake a family situation to get the guy to accept a live-in relationship. Then, very soon act like a pious person who is repulsed by live-in relationships, and emotionally blackmail the guy into proposing marriage so that the live-in relationship can be legitimized. And then, Mridu slowly lets her psychopathic tendencies come to the fore. Verbal abuse, gaslighting, manipulation, emotional abuse and the worst – physical abuse. Four ex-boyfriends of Mridu were lucky enough to get out of her schemes before they got completely stuck in them. But, her ex-husband and his innocent family were not so lucky. They are suffering from the misdeeds of a person so devious, that she has not only destroyed many families but has still not been held accountable for any of her crimes. Despite her ex-husband having filed for divorce almost 5 years back, Mridu has managed to constantly delay finalization of the divorce, and has also managed to maliciously keep their son away from his father, both only for monetary gains.

History of Crimes and Evil Deeds

Mridu’s list of crimes against her ex-husband and his family is a shuddering tale of deceit, abuse and torture. It is a story of unimaginable proportions and the degree to which someone can be heartless enough to not only destroy the lives of innocent people, but also that of her own son in a dangerous game of jealousy and revenge.

Mridu’s ex-husband warned her that he would involve law enforcement for these crimes, but he was on a work visa and she is a U.S. citizen. She threatened him saying that she will make up a fake abuse case, get him arrested, and eventually get him deported back to India.

Feb 3rd 2013: At their Fremont apartment, Mridu slapped and kicked her ex-husband continuously until there were bruises on his body.
Dec 7th 2013: During a trip to Hawaii, when they were driving, Mridu slapped her ex-husband. When he demanded that she let him out of the jeep, she started driving at breakneck speed on a narrow hilly road and collided with a car coming in the opposite direction.
Apr 12th 2014: After an argument, Mridu threw knives at her ex-husband. A couple of them hit him and caused minor cuts. He was lucky to escape serious injuries.
Oct 7th 2014: Mridu tore her ex-husband’s shirt as he was leaving the house for work. When he got home from work, Mridu had cut up all of his clothes from the wardrobe.
Mar 5th 2015: Mridu punched her ex-husband in the neck. Her diamond ring caused a deep cut in his neck.
Feb 5th 2016: Mridu has always been an attention-seeking person, no matter the cost. When she was 4 months pregnant, Mridu punched her own stomach and kept punching it, just because her ex-husband refused to talk to her after an argument. The fetus, their son, thankfully survived.
May 14th 2016: When her ex-husband was driving on the freeway, Mridu slapped her ex-husband on the face. After a few blows to his face she broke his glasses and the glass split his lip.
Dec 3rd 2016: While driving on the freeway, when their 6 month old son was sitting in the backseat with Mridu, she suddenly started kicking her ex-husband who was driving the car. When he pulled over the car to the shoulder so that an accident would be avoided, she started to hit his head with her cellphone. He tried to call 911, but Mridu lied to him that officers would come and take their son with them. To protect their son, he hung up on the 911 call and drove home with a swelling on his head and a swollen right eye.
May 14th 2017: Because of constant abuse Mridu’s ex-husband was not talking to her. Mridu got angry and smashed a saucepan on the electric stove. The stove glass shattered and a lot of glass pieces fell to the kitchen floor. Mridu refused to clean the glass so her ex-husband cleaned it up to keep the place safe for their son.
Aug 8th 2017: When Mridu’s ex-husband was working on fixing some furniture, Mridu suddenly came up to him and slapped him.
Apr 27th 2018: Due to all this physical and mental abuse from Mridu and the psychological effects on his son, based on counseling sessions with CORA (Community Overcoming Relationship Abuse) and a subsequent recommendation by them, Mridu’s ex-husband filed for divorce.
May 23rd 2018: A controlling and manipulative personality like Mridu, having lost control of her ex-husband due to the filed divorce, Mridu was out for revenge. Mridu took their 2 year old son in her hands, used a bruise kit and fake blood paint, dabbed it on her lips and the cheeks of their son, and took a photo. She then called the cops crying and showed them the photo. The police arrested the ex-husband and sent him to jail on charges of domestic violence and cruelty against a child. Shocked and in tears, her ex-husband managed to bail himself out on a bond of $5,000. Since the ex-husband could not go back to their house after bailing out, his sister (we’ll call her Siya from here on) and her family took him into their home. After reviewing the suspicious evidence, the District Attorney refused to prosecute the case.
Jul 20th 2018: Angry with the domestic abuse case not being prosecuted, Mridu filed for a restraining order against her ex-husband. To avoid exorbitant attorney fees, her ex-husband agreed to a 1.5 year restraining order which prohibited his contact with their 2 year old son. It also gave complete control of their house, which he had completely paid for, to Mridu.
Sep 17th 2018: Mridu asked the court for, and was awarded $6,000 per month for alimony and child support. It was now clear that Mridu was after money, at the cost of the father-son relationship. A son was being used by his mother only to fuel her greed for money and to extract revenge.
Oct 24th 2018 and Nov 1st 2018: Since Siya gave her brother a place to live in her house, Mridu now turned her vicious gaze on Siya. Mridu called Adult Protective Services (APS) on Siya, with the allegation that Siya was abusing her own sister (we’ll call her Riya from here on). Riya is handicapped and has cerebral palsy. On Oct 24th 2018, APS barged into Siya’s home, and interrogated the bed-ridden Riya for an hour to see if the allegations were true. A confused and frightened Riya told APS that this must be some joke because Siya takes good care of her and she is very happy. On Nov 1st 2018 APS visited the special-needs school of Riya and again asked her the same questions. Riya gave them the same answers as before. The case was closed as unfounded. Besides Riya’s physical problems, after these incidents she was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and still lives in the constant fear that she will be separated from her loving family.
Jan 29th 2019: Mridu walked into a Police Department with their son and alleged that Siya was engaged in human trafficking and held people against their will in her home. The Police Department dispatched officers to Siya’s home, searched it, found it clean and in order without any reason to suspect that the allegation was true. They wrote a report which said that Mridu had used the Police Department for her own personal vengeful reasons.
April 2021: Mridu created a defamatory website against Siya. In the website Mridu made fake allegations that Siya runs a cult, administers drugs to people in her house and abuses them. She posted Siya’s private photos and videos on the website and sent the website link to about 1000 people through FaceBook, emails and SMS.
March 2022: Mridu sent the City Building Inspector to Siya’s house alleging that there was illegal construction in the house. The Inspector came in, inspected the house, cleared it, and noted down that someone had played a cruel prank on Siya and misused the City’s resources.
